About Lactation Care, Inc.

Breastfeeding is best for you and best for your baby!

Although it is natural, breastfeeding is not automatic. We find that the more information and resources parents have, the easier breastfeeding and having babies is! It's a method that has worked for millions of years!

We are here to help improve your breastfeeding experience

Despite the many benefits of breastfeeding, many mothers discontinue nursing because of problems, lack of support and information. Lactation Care, Inc., a small, woman-owned business (thank you for considering our services!) was founded to provide support and solutions for breastfeeding difficulties in a caring and effective manner. We do this by providing classes, one-on-one breastfeeding consultations and telephone support, and by supplying breastpumps and accessories (nursing pillows, slings, etc.), as needed, with instruction for proper use. We receive referrals from pediatric and obstetric offices, as well as self-referrals. We also are available for health-care staff training and professional conferences.

Lactation Care Helps Families

Every mother has different needs, and we are sensitive to the concerns of parents, while at the same time offering information to help them make informed decisions. We hope that you will call us if we can be of service to you and your family. Thank you for sharing our name with other pregnant and nursing mothers—we very much appreciate your referrals. We wish you much happiness as you grow in mothering!

Dot Norcross, IBCLC, our president and founder, is certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant examiners. She has been helping breastfeeding mothers for almost 30 years. It all began when her second child was born prematurely and she had trouble finding a breastpump. Today, in addition to running her business and continuing to help new families, Dot lectures at conferences and provides in-service presentations at hospitals and doctors' offices.

Sandra Corsetti, also IBCLC, has been working with breastfeeding mothers for over 25 years. Besides helping moms at our site, she teaches pre-natal breastfeeding classes for local OBGYN practices.

Mary Bell was Lactation Care, Inc. first employee. She received training in breastfeeding through the Nursing Mother's Council. She is our office manager, does phone support, and is our ace bra fitter.

Our newest staff member is Raechel Hackney, RN, IBCLC. Raechel recently moved from Pennsylvania , leaving behind her private practice of 20 years. We are happy she chose to join our group to continue her work helping breastfeeding families and educating pregnant women.

Linda Chilson has been offering management support and doing our billing for over four years. Her enthusiasm and attention to detail keeps us on our toes.

Karen Sussman-Karten, RN, IBCLC was worked in pediatric settings for 20 years. She has been associated with Lactation Care, Inc. for 6 years teaching prenatal classes and seeing moms. We all benefit from her gentle nature and feel lucky to have her working full time now.

Barbara Popper, IBCLC, works for Lactation Care as a lactation consultant per diem. Barbara has worked with breastfeeding families for over 30 years. She is also the project director at the Federation of Children with Special Needs.

Combined, our team has 21 children all of whom were happily breastfed.
